Bright crisp Rosé wine, salmon pink in colour, red fruits on the nose. Caramel upfront with hints of strawberries on the palate, combined with lemongrass and citrus notes. This lovely wine is made from the Pinot Noir grape. Especially good as a summer drink but can be enjoyed all year round either on its own or paired with cheeses, pasta, charcuterie, and fish. This wine is made by pressing the Pinot Noir grapes lightly and using cool fermentation to capture the distinctive Pinot flavours. Order 6 or more bottles for Free UK delivery.

Hand picked whole bunch pressed, 1.2bar horizontal pneumatic press. 50% aged in oak for 4 months, bentonite fining, cold stabilised, 0.45 micron filtration.
Chet Valley Winery
Fourth generation farmers son, John, also qualified Chemist planted this plot in 2015 and built a new state of the art winery in 2020. This wine is the first from these vines and the first to be produced in the new winery.
Terrior
Gentle undulation with East-West vine row direction allowing slow ripening. The land has some frost pockets is well-draining sandy loam changing to boulder clay (clay with chalk chip) at 1.4 metres depth. Can suffer from drought stress and nutrient leaching.

Bottled within 6 months of picking to capture fresh fruit flavours. Inspired by the Pinot Noir grape, that gives good fruit but little colour from direct pressing with no maceration, the Regent grapes allows for some longevity of the wine plus additional colour and tannin.

Lovely afternoon touring and learning about the vineyards and tasting the wines with locally produced nibbles. John is an excellent host and passes on technical information easily. A delightful way to celebrate a 60th birthday with a family group and even better being able to cycle through beautiful lanes in the sun to get there .

We had a wonderful day at Chet Valley! We hired the venue for a family party and enjoyed food and wine on the balcony overlooking the beautiful vineyard scenery. We particularly enjoyed the Horatio Rose Brut which was very refreshing on a hot summers day. We had an excellent tour of the vineyard with the owner, John who was very knowledgeable about not only the vines and the wine but also the local area and all things nature related. He was also very good with the children in our party. I’d highly recommend Chet Valley Wine and also Chet Valley as a venue to hire.

Don't be deceived by the sunny photo below! A friend and I joined a Chet Valley vineyard tour earlier this year, and despite pandemic restrictions and a torrential downpour that even included hail at one point, John managed to pull off an engaging and fun event. It would appear nothing can dampen his enthusiasm. 😉 Chet Valley has a surprisingly wide range of wines of good quality. So if you are in or around Norfolk - or want an excuse to be - I highly recommend paying them a visit. (Warning: you will probably want to purchase a few bottles too...)
