We offer a meat and cheese platter featuring charcuterie from Marsh Pig just 3 miles from our vineyard, a fish platter from Bunnings, or a vegetarian/vegan platter. £25.00
Wine Tasting Tours are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays in season, from the beginning of April, until harvest time in October.
Please note, the time to arrive for lunch and picnics is 13:30
Group tours of 10 or more people can be booked in advance at any time of the week by arrangement. Please contact the Chet Valley Vineyard team to discuss availability.
On Wednesday and Saturdays, we recommend that our food platters can be ordered to follow the 11am tasting, or be eaten before the 3pm tasting. For afternoon tastings, please arrive no earlier than 1.30pm to collect your platter. If you have ordered a lunch, we would recommend that you undertake the morning tasting, so that you gain the full benefit of both wine and the cuisine: The taste of the wine may be influenced by the flavours that you experience at lunch.
John is happy to welcome hen parties to his winery by arrangement.
John was one of the first to plant a vineyard in Norfolk, and having been involved with the production of award-winning wines since the 1990s. As your dedicated wine tasting tour guide, he will inspire you with stories of his experiences making wine in Norfolk, and his knowledge from his studies and travels to wine regions abroad both in the New and Old worlds.
After a short walk through the vineyard, the wine tasting tour returns to the new winery, where John explains the details of the winemaking process, and demonstrates the various steps of sparkling wine production – a real treat for those interested in wine, the winemaking process and those who enjoy the end-result of this labour of love
Finally, guests enjoy generous samples of five or more of Chet Valley’s award-winning wines, accompanied by locally produced cheese and charcuterie whilst sitting under the walnut tree by the vineyard, or, on the winery balcony, overlooking our beautiful vineyard.
An unforgettable gift for a loved one, group-retreat, or solo-adventure, this unique opportunity offers casual fans and wine aficionados alike the opportunity to experience the joy of wine from a brand new perspective.
Guests for the Chet Valley wine tour and tastings may enjoy a light cold lunch platter following the conclusion of the tasting session if ordered in advance of the day.
We recommend that the food is enjoyed after a morning tasting rather than before the afternoon tasting. Wines are generally best appreciated when tasted with a clean palate ie before a meal which may contain flavours that affect guests ability to differentiate subtle notes in the wines.
For those travelling from afar, or simply looking to spend a little more time amongst the vines, we’re proud to offer our recently converted holiday cottage the Vine House.
Sleeping up to 6 guests, this tranquil retreat offers our guests the perfect home-away-from-home following an evening of tours and tastings. The Vine House is available to let for periods of 3 nights and above.
Give your loved one the gift of an unforgettable day in the Norfolk countryside to look forward to this summer with our vineyard picnic packages.
Chet Valley’s luxury picnic menu features only locally sourced foods, including charcuterie, cheese, bread, olives, and a wide selection of filled sandwiches and savory pastries, alongside a number of sweet options.
All tours and tastings held at Chet Valley are led by our experienced winemakers, all of whom possess extensive knowledge and experience in both traditional and new winemaking techniques. Their knowledge and storytelling give our guests the opportunity to gain valuable insight into every aspect of the winemaking process.
Our heavily decorated wine range is the highlight of our tour and tasting experiences for many of our customers. With our options offering large samples or bottles of between four and six of our best-loved creations, you’re sure to discover a wide variety of delightfully unique tastes, from aromatic whites to fruit-forward rosés.
With both in-person and online tasting experiences available, the joy of winemaking at Chet Valley can truly be experienced from anywhere in the world – whether from amongst our sun-soaked vines in South Norfolk or from your own home with the assistance of a virtual tasting kit.

Lovely afternoon touring and learning about the vineyards and tasting the wines with locally produced nibbles. John is an excellent host and passes on technical information easily. A delightful way to celebrate a 60th birthday with a family group and even better being able to cycle through beautiful lanes in the sun to get there .

We had a wonderful day at Chet Valley! We hired the venue for a family party and enjoyed food and wine on the balcony overlooking the beautiful vineyard scenery. We particularly enjoyed the Horatio Rose Brut which was very refreshing on a hot summers day. We had an excellent tour of the vineyard with the owner, John who was very knowledgeable about not only the vines and the wine but also the local area and all things nature related. He was also very good with the children in our party. I’d highly recommend Chet Valley Wine and also Chet Valley as a venue to hire.

Don't be deceived by the sunny photo below! A friend and I joined a Chet Valley vineyard tour earlier this year, and despite pandemic restrictions and a torrential downpour that even included hail at one point, John managed to pull off an engaging and fun event. It would appear nothing can dampen his enthusiasm. 😉 Chet Valley has a surprisingly wide range of wines of good quality. So if you are in or around Norfolk - or want an excuse to be - I highly recommend paying them a visit. (Warning: you will probably want to purchase a few bottles too...)
