Set on the beautiful Chet Valley Vineyard, The Vine House is in a peaceful rural location, sitting literally amongst the vines in the lovely South Norfolk Village of Bergh Apton. A perfectly positioned home-away-from-home for those seeking to escape to the country, and an ideal sanctuary for wine lovers, this recently-refurbished, self-catering accommodation suits every vineyard holiday guest – even well-behaved dogs.

The Vine House sleeps up to six people across two double and one twin room, with a cot available for babies if required.

The vineyard accommodation is highly accessible, having been awarded accreditation from Euan’s Guide on account of its one-level, wide doors and corridors, and lack of steps, alongside its provisions for disabled and elderly guests.

Heating & Energy

The vineyard accommodation is heated by an air-source heat pump and log burner, with underfloor heating installed throughout. Hot water is available at all times. Our variety of heating options make the Vine House a perfect retreat for those looking to visit the Vineyard in the colder winter months. In the summer, the building’s light and airy architecture, featuring large windows and patio doors ensure a pleasantly cool environment.

Hot Tub

Hiring a hot tub for your stay at the Vine House is a great way to relax and unwind with family and friends. With views across the lawns to the vines beyond where the grapes were grown that were hand picked to end up as the wine in your glass. How cool is that?

We are happy to arrange the hot tub hire for you so that everything is in place ready for you to enjoy during your stay.

HAMPERS AT THE VINE HOUSE

We very much look forward to welcoming you to The Vine House on Chet Valley Vineyard, and to help you settle into your new surroundings, we provide a welcome hamper which includes local artisan foods and wine from our vineyard made from the grapes that are growing at Chet Valley Vineyard. 

There is a still wine hamper which comes as standard for all bookings and can be modified for those with special dietary requirements. 

Or …why not upgrade to an English sparkling wine hamper with a delicious bottle of brut or Demi sec sparkling White Skylark? This hamper also includes a tasty selection pack of Marsh Pig charcuterie, and some ground coffee and biscuits. All for an additional ÂŁ20 which can be added to your booking at the point of making your reservation. 

We will confirm your requirements with you before your arrival so you can tell us which wine you would like to have ready and waiting for you chilling in the fridge, and which goodies from the Winery deli you would like to accompany your wine. Additional bottles of wine can be ordered as required.

A UK WINE TASTING BREAK TO REMEMBER

In the spirit of a true vineyard holiday, a chilled bottle of our wine will be ready to welcome you on your arrival at the Vine House. The Welcome hamper will include a bottle of our still wine from Chet Valley Vineyard plus a selection of local foods from our deli counter at the winery. Please browse the shop section of our website for further information on our award-winning wine range. Alternatively there is an option to upgrade your welcome hamper at the time of making your reservation to a Sparkling wine and chocolates hamper.

Guests may also book an exclusive small-group vineyard tour and wine tasting with head winemaker, John Hemmant, in advance of their stay by contacting Chet Valley directly, depending on his availability. This exciting and informative experience offers a unique level of insight into the true English vineyard experience, starting at the cellar door, and ending with tastings amongst the vines themselves (weather permitting)

Guest access

For those arriving by car, there is plenty of free parking immediately adjacent to the property, which may be used throughout your stay.

We have a locked key safe outside the property, so self-check-in is simple and may be completed at any time.

Upon approach and entry, there are wide access doors, no steps and the entire vineyard accommodation is on one level – making it accessible for everyone. PET & CHILD FRIENDLY UK VINEYARD HOLIDAYS

The Vine House is a child and pet-friendly vineyard holiday let. There is a very sociable vineyard spaniel, Rosie, who is friendly with other dogs and used to small children with whom she is very gentle. We look forward to welcoming you and your well-behaved pets to the picturesque South Norfolk countryside.

We charge ÂŁ10 per pet per part of a week’s stay (ie up to 1 week = ÂŁ10). This is to cover additional cleaning costs. Please contact the owners in advance of booking with a pet to confirm the breed and age of your pet. No pets are to be left unsupervised on the property at any time. Muddy paws must be wiped on returning to the property from walks. Pets are not allowed on the furniture and owners are advised to bring their own pet’s bed with them. Please ensure all flea treatments are up to date.
